HICARE dispatched a delegation that included the Executive Secretaries to Korea for the purpose of supporting A-bomb survivors in Korea. And in addition to reinforce HICARE’s network with Korean medical and research institutions.

We exchanged opinions while discussing current activities of HICARE and the Korean Red Cross and the HICARE Training Program for medical professionals carried out with the cooperation of the Korean Red Cross.
They made strong demands for us to continue the program. They also gave us their commitment to support other HICARE projects.

A national institution of Radiation Medicine in Korea comprised of the Research Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences, Korean Cancer Center Hospital, National Radiation Emergency Medical Center, and Korea Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator Project.

【Samsung Medical Center】 *2
We visited the Samsung Medical Center to expand our network in Korea. We also conducted a seminar on the effects of A-bomb radiation on the human body and radiotherapy. This visit resulted in their understanding the projects of our council as well as the significance of medical care for radiation-exposed people.

Founded November 9, 1994 under the philosophy of "contributing to improving the nation’s health through the best medical service, advanced medical research, and development of outstanding medical personnel." It consists of 40 clinical departments, 1951 beds, 8 specialist centers, and about 110 special clinics, which are supported by approx. 6,500 personnel including over 1,200 doctors and 2,000 nurses.
It is among the top three medical centers in Korea.
