I had a valuable experience during the one-month's training at HICARE in Hiroshima. The most meaningful outcome of this training was that I could deepen my understanding of radiation and atomic weapons that I had known little about before the training. During this one-month, which was my first visit to Japan, I came to understand, to some degree, Japanese culture and way of thinking through mingling with many people. I will never forget the memory of visiting the historic legacies on the streets, the Atomic Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum, the beautiful river running through the city, Hiroshima Castle, Itsukushima Shrine and its Grand Gate in Miyajima and Yamato Museum in Kure City.
The basic research and methods that I learned in Hiroshima University Research Institute for Radiation Biology and Medicine, where the main program of this training was conducted, will be helpful for my research in Korea. I would like to express my appreciation to Professor Kamiya, Professor Suzuki, and Professor Tashiro, who kindly arranged for me to experience all the steps of experiments and explained the theoretical background, as well as Dr. Toyoshima, Dr. Son, Mr. Yoshida, Mr. Shima and other people who extended their kind hospitality to me.
