Briefings at radiation-related institutions (one week)
- A overarching view of treatment for radiation exposure: from history, acute care, long term follow up, new therapy, and prevention.
-I plan to use it to prepare my system (physicians and first responders) for radiation exposure disasters. I will also use the knowledge about medical exposure to radiation for diagnostic testing in my decisions about medical imaging for my patients.
- I learned a lot about the effects of radiation and atomic weapons on Japan and humanity at large. I was hoping to learn more about how to manage an acute radiological crisis as a physician and healthcare leader. Participating in a decontamination demo, learning more about the isotopes, half-lives, strategies for management of a disaster/attack in the acute and chronic phase would be some additional topics I would like to learn more about.
